Host and Semantic Property Quick Reference

The Host kinds ETAF defines and the semantic and event properties a Host accepts. Each name links to the entry, which gives the accepted values and behavior.

Hosts

Host	Purpose
text	A Host showing one run of text; the leaf of most interfaces.
box	A block-level flow container; the general-purpose layout Host.
fragment	A grouping Host with no Ebox node.
row	A container that lays its children out in one horizontal line.
column	A container that stacks its children vertically.
flex	A full flex container.
grid	A grid container with explicit or automatic tracks.
image	A fixed-size local picture.

Semantic Properties

Property	Purpose
:class	One or more class names that selectors and component styles match.
:id	The identifier of a Host, matched by #name selectors.
:role	The accessible role of a Host.
:aria-*	An attribute in the ARIA namespace; :aria-* stands for every property whose name begins with :aria-.
:tab-index	The position of a Host in the Tab order.
:disabled	Mark a Host as unavailable without removing it.
:focus-group	Make a container's focus stops one stop of the enclosing navigation.
:focus-scope	Confine keyboard operation to a subtree.
:region	Declare a user-addressable functional region on a Host.
:ref	The application's handle to a Host.
:use	Attach one or more Behaviors to a Host.
:help-echo	The help text shown for a Host.
:pointer	The mouse pointer shape for a Host.
:hover-style	The paint a Host shows while the pointer is over it.
:hover-content	Text shown in place of a Host's content while it is hovered.
:drag-lock-modifier	Keep a drag gesture alive across a button release.
:hover-group	Make several Hosts share one hover state.
:sticky	Keep a Host visible while its buffer scrolls.
:keys	Declare Host key bindings that run while the Host has focus or contains point.
:on-change	The next-value callback of etaf-toggleable.
:on-start	The gesture-start callback of the drag and resize Behaviors.
:on-move	The movement callback of etaf-draggable and etaf-draggable-controlled.
:on-end	The gesture-end callback of the drag and resize Behaviors.

:on-direction	The handler that decides what a direction means for a Host.
:on-leave	The callback an input session runs when a click lands outside the edited box.
